Modernising London Road will allow Pilgrims Hospices’ remarkable legacy to continue on the very site that our founder, Ann Robertson established over 40 years ago.

Focusing our attention on modernising our London Road site will ensure our long-term future, providing quality hospice care in the heart of Canterbury which is one of our core principles.

Our Future Plans

Pilgrims Hospices has launched a project to modernise our premises on London Road, Canterbury. This modernisation will safeguard our long-term presence in the heart of the city and ensure we continue to provide high-quality, compassionate end-of-life care for local people. This website is where we will share updates on our plans and progress as we improve our hospice facilities.

A few years ago, we explored relocating to a purpose-built hospice on the edge of Canterbury, funded in part by selling our current London Road properties. After careful consideration, we have made the positive decision to remain at London Road and invest in modernising and improving our existing buildings.

This significant investment will ensure that our hospice continues to meet the evolving needs of patients, families, staff, and volunteers. These will be the most substantial improvements made to the site in many years.

Following detailed design work and a public consultation, we are now pleased to share the proposed plans with you.  We invite to to view our proposals and provide feedback using the online feedback form.
